EMERGENCY RESPONSE CHAPLAINCY
Equipping Individuals to Respond to Today's Emergencies
Who we are:
In times of crisis the need for moral, spiritual, and emotional support can be significant. We currently lack a national response agency to meet this need.
Our purpose is to mobilize Trained Response Teams, to act as a Facilitating Organization and to establish a Resource Center for Chaplains.
What we do:
EQUIPPING AGENCY: Preparation & Certification Annually this country faces a wide variety of disasters, not limited to tragedies caused by men such as terrorism, violence and school shootings. Disasters brought on by Fires, Earthquakes and various weather phenomena take the lives of many and leave many others confused, without housing or other basic necessities.
Disasters will happen; whether or not they happen in your locale, your community will be impacted. It is upon us to be ready to mobilize, to serve the First Responders and bring hope into the harsh realities of today’s existence. The United States Emergency Chaplains Corps (USECC) provides individuals, communities and associations with the necessary skills to respond to crisis situations.
ENABLING AGENCY: Coordination & Communication Center The day of the local pastor or community elder walking up to the “yellow line” and gaining access to the scene is gone. The United States Emergency Chaplains Corps provides clear communications, coordination and escort at the scene in liaison with the local authority and protocol. Databases and networking resources will be made available. By serving the community we serve the First Responders.
PARTNERING AGENCY: Training, Networking & Compassion
We help you to network with the right people in your area and connect you to a national network of response chaplains. Training and an Introduction to Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and The National Incident Management System (NIMS) is available. Wherever you are located, you can be a part of this network. Whether by sending people to the crisis, responding to affected individuals in your area or simply supporting the USECC, catch the vision for this organization.
What we need: For the grass roots work of the Emergency Response Chaplaincy to continue to take shape, some essential steps must be taken, by raising administrative costs, travel expenses, and putting the communication systems and necessary structures in place.
What we ask:
First and foremost we ask for your prayers. Additionally, we are in need of financial assistance. We ask you to consider giving a gift, a grant or providing regular support. We also invite you to join with us and become a part of the team. Executive Director Steve Holden would like to come and speak to your church, group or organization. Thank You.
